Dear student,

B.Sc Computer Science graduates cannot write GATE exam as there is a criteria that students must have completed 4 years undergraduation degree or should be in final year of their 4 years undergraduation degree like B.E/ B.Tech.

But if you can study MCA then you are eligible to write GATE exam in 2 nd year or 3 rd year of MCA. Master students from any discipline like M.Sc, M.Tech, MCA etc can write GATE exam.

Yes, candidates who have passed passed Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent from a recognized board are eligible to appear for GATE Entrance Examination. In short the candidates who have passed M.Sc./ M.A./MCA or
equivalent are eligible. The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for GATE.
