T1 = 27 = 300K

Let initial pressure be P1 and final be P2 .

Now, as gas is compressed to 10 times the original pressure then :-

P1/P2 = 1/10

And, gamma = 1.4

And since the gas is compressed, so we will use

(T1 / T2 )^gamma = ( P1/P2) ^ (gamma - 1)

Therefore it becomes -

(300/ T2 )^1.4 = (1/10)^0.4

And after taking ln on both sides and solving we get :-

T2 = 578.824K

Therefore rise in temperature is :-

T2 - T1 = 578.824 - 300 = 278.824 K.
