Hi Nitish,
I myself being a Computer Science Engineering student feels the best to answer your question.
Having computer science knowledge is not compulsory for doing Computer Science Engineering but it gives you a slight edge.
In what so ever college you go, teachers assume that you know the basics so they will move forward really fast. In short, you have to study all by yourself. This won't be easy if you have even a little less craziness for computers.
In the end, like most of the students who come to CS branch just for placement, you will get a placement in some service-based company with a salary of around 20-25 k per month. You will be stuck in a job you hate and then you will opt for masters and most probably an MBA. In the end, you will realize that you wasted 4 great years of your life.
In the end, I would suggest that read about the different field and find what interests you and then put your whole effort in that. You are just looking that people are running over to take engineering and CSE, but you should also look to the peoples after their degree. Most of them are unemployed or having a salary not more the 25000.
Your life is in your hands.
Take a wise decision.
Hope it was useful to you and your query was resolved. Feel free to contact us for any queries. All the best :)
See I was a PCMB student as well who is now in Computer Science Engineering branch. So even I studied biology for 2 years and now m here in CSE branch. And coding programming is completely new and difficult but for me but at the same time it's interesting and enjoyable once you find the attraction towards it. Read some articles about what exactly coding is so you will get a better idea.
Best wishes. Thank you.
