using the prefix Dr. infront of the name of a bachelor of physiotherapy is to confuse the layman public and exploit. you may call yourself physiotherapist not a physician. if it is the given rights to prescribe medicine is considered to be as a doctor, then a pharmacist is also can be called doctor. ofcourse if you hold a Phd then you can be called doctorate and add Dr prefix. BPT can be called physiotherapist and not doctor

although this has been a debatable topics over the years the latest guidelines of the Indian institute of physiotherapist says that bachelors of physiotherapy after registering themselves with the iip can use the degree doctor in front of their name sajde to a practicing physicians of physiotherapy although the debacle is still on and there are many orbitals and nuances regarding the use of this practice ,yet as of now via official notification you will be entitled to use a degree before your name after passing and registering yourself with MIAP

Dear Vakeel, Physiotherapists are Doctors and hence they can use the prefix Dr. infront of their name. I sm a Physiotherapy graduate and I have the prefix Dr. in fron of my name. The Indian Association of Physiotherapists (IAP) has released a notification regarding this. However, you need to register yourself with IAP after the completion of your course. Then you can add MIAP after B.P.T degree.
