Any branch student can grab a job in software company if have a skill!yes but it depends on which way you wana go either in campus placements or off placements because if its through campus placements then there would be problems and it is not that easy like for example if you are from tier 1 or tier 2 college what happens is if 100 tech companies approach for college placemnts they allow all cse students to sit in placements where as they allow only 70-80%of students for ece and 50-60% studentsfrom eee and so oon depends on the branch.so if you want to go through campus placemnts to software job if you take cse or IT or any other new courses like CSM,AID,CSC,CSO you will have better chances for tech companies.now many students from tier 3 colleges also have good skill they learn good skill and if the college is not that reputed then companies approahes would be less so what they do is no matter what branch they chose if you want a soft ware job you shoul have skill coding for sure if not no chances for you to fetch a software job.so any student can grab a software job but one needs to have the skill in perfection which makes them hire.

Despite popular myths, you can still become a software developer without a B.Tech CSE degree.

Whether you’re re-entering the workforce or stuck in a career you dislike (administration, operations, banking, etc.), becoming a software developer is totally within your grasp—as long as you’re willing to put in the hard work to learn coding and grab technical skills.

In almost all Engineering colleges students from EEE,ECE and even Mechanical sit for Technical jobs and some of them even get it because they have those skills.

Yes,you can but you have to clear the step by step process.If you are from BA/ BCA/BSc/B.Com then there will be separate notification released for you for hiring for different job roles.If you are from Btech  then again there will be specific eligibility criteria of each software company for you and you have to check on their website and do google search for it.Every company will test you based on your aptitude skills,communication skill apart from technical knowledge that you have so if you have only skill but not aptitude and communication skills then it would be difficult for you to apply for job.If you have proffessional connections then it will be good for you for direct interview.Alone skill won't help you if you don't show your skill to others or present yourself.
