Since youre so keen to make a career in this field, you should specifically aim for four-year B Tech in Aerospace Engineering or Avionics. Alternatively, you can opt for the five-year integrated dual degree program (B.Tech (Engg Phys) & MS/MTech) leads to PG degree in any of the following specialisations:
(i) M.S. in Solid State Physics
(ii) M.S. in Astronomy & Astrophysics
(iii) M.S. in Earth System Science and
(iv) M Tech in Optical Engg. (Theres no exit option at the end of four years).
The Department of Space offers an assistantship package to all the BTech students to cover the complete cost of education, boarding and lodging at IIST.
IIST graduates are absorbed in ISRO as scientists and engineers.
Admission to these programmes is based on JEE (Main) conducted by the CBSE, and JEE (Advanced) conducted by the IITs.
Besides securing 75 per cent in PCM (60 per cent for reserved category) in your Class XII boards, youll need to score the minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE (Advanced) ,
