Of course you can join IIT for doing M. Tech. To do so you must apply and prepare for gate. This is an entry test administered by old IITs and IISc. Nearly every college in India accepts this score for the MTech programme. The course of studies and cut-offs of various IITs and IISc can be Googled. You have to clear the GATE in the branch you want if you want to join some IIT to follow your M.Tech. After you have passed the GATE test, you will be invited for an interview that depends entirely on the IIT campus since some IITs do not take a private interview.
