NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
hi hariharyes, but you need only 50 percent aggregate in pcb,
- To fulfill the NEET eligibility criteria 2018, candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English. The candidates belonging to General Category should score a minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 or HSC examination.
- Candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) should score a minimum of 40% in their Class 12 or HSC examination.
For persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required, hope this helps, good luck
12th standard percentage isn't at all important for the allotment of seats in Medical College but for eligibility purposes there is a requirement of minimum percentage of score in 12 class as :
General category candidates will have to secure at least 50% marks in PCB together in 10+2 examination while the Reserved category candidates will have to obtain 40% marks minimum.
Thanks and GOOD LUCK for exams.

It is 40% aggregate in PCB and English for SC/ST/OBC CATEGORY candidates and 45% for OPH.
Scoring anything more than the above mentioned score is an added bonus and doesn't confer any extra advantage in regard to admissions into any of the medical colleges.
Whether you'll be grabbing a seat into any of the medical colleges or not Only depends on how well you score in your entrance exam. You need not worry.
Hi Harihar Vyavahare,
You need only 50% marks in boards to be eligible to appear in NEET and the rest selection procedure depends only on the marks that you have scored in NEET.
Higher board percentage wont provide you any benefit as such in NEET but having good basic concepts will be going to help you to prepare for NEET in a simplified way for Sure.
Score as much as you can and basic requirement is to have your basic cleared and building of great concept.
IT will not only save your time during prepartion but also in final NEET exam.
ALL the Best
The marks you get in physics, chemistry and Biology in your boards will only determine your eligibility to appear for the counselling after you secured the 50th percentile for general category and 40 percentile for reserved category in the Neet examination
If you fail to secure the aforesaid percentile in the Neet examination, passing boards with decent marks of getting a higher percentage in Board examinations will not make a difference and you will not be considered eligible for counselling
As Laid downn by the Medical Council of India you must be getting an aggregate of 50% in physics, chemistry and Biology in your Board examinations as a Criterion to be considered eligible for counselling after you have secured the percentile which I have mentioned before in your neet examination
So, in short,as for neet counselling, your board marks will only be considered once you get the 40/50th percentile(ur/sc respectively)
Hope this helps
Thank you
