can I apply gate? now I am final year student I have 1 back papper in fifth sem

The minimum education qualification required to be eligible for GATE is that you must have passed 4 year B.Tech after 10+2 OR 3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology or 5 years Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or 4 year Bachelor's degree in Science or Post Diploma in Science. Candidates who are in final year are also eligible. You can still appear if you have a backlog but you need to clear that subject and obtain passing certificate before getting admission through GATE.
You can appear for GATE Exam. But, clear remaining papers by the time you seek admission for PG or apply for job in PSUs.
A students is eligible to appear in GATE even with backlogs.
