see the change of branch after first year is permissible , but some of the conditions apply, you must secure a prescribed score in overall  first year which  determined by the institute  to change branch, unless you have less score then the cutoff score as per authority , then it would not possible to change branch.

however it may vary with college to college. so it would be best to consult about this with HOD of the department or exam center of the respective college.
