Hello,
Yes, you may pursue aeronautical engineering after completing your mechanical engineering diploma. In your second year of B.E/Tech, you are eligible for lateral entrance. Only a few prestigious schools, such as Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh (www.pec.ac.in) and Anna University in Chennai,Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad ,Hindustan College of Engineering, Chennai Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Secunderabad- Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Vasad- provide this field of engineering
Diploma holders can get degrees by passing the Aeronautical Society of India's examinations. Students who completed Class XII/II PUC with physics and mathematics can join in an AMAESI Institutes' three-year programme, which is equal to an aeronautical engineering degree and includes technical learning.
Check out the website for more details (www.aesi.org).
Hope it helped
