First of all, Don't panic much about what you are thinking.
As you said, you have cleared class 12th in 2019 but gave improvement exam in 2020 and got the result.
So, I want to assure you that now NTA (conducting body of JEE and NEET) has removed the age barrier from it.
Second thing, a new program has been launched recently in which all those students who were in compartment or gave the improvement exams last year, can also apply for the JEE exams .
So, surely in 2021 you are going to give the exam and be prepared this time, hope that you will give much better performance and will grab seat in the top colleges.
Your eligibility criteria is also clearing according to NTA, which is minimum 75% aggregate in 12th Boards Exam which you successively qualified.
All the good wishes with you and hope that you will give your best. Try to focus on the basics and for Chemistry especially, I think NCERT is most preferred because from there only every year many questions are picked up.
So, Mug up all the things and Achieve your decided goal.
Good Wishes with you and Hope that you have started your preparation in a better way.
Also hope that my answer helped you.
