Dear Aspirant, we choose our branch as per the interest we have rest it depends on the skillset we want to develop during the college tenure in order to get our dream job. All BTech students are exposed to PCM in depth bit we choose different branches.

The first year subjects are common to all branches then from the second year the core subjects are focused on. You can go with CSE with no doubts in mind. Just make sure you are passionate enough to develop command over other languages as well during your college tenure. All the best.

If you got allotted cse branch in iit, then it's very good. Now it's not necessary that only students having a pre knowledge of cs can only take cse and study it. Basically the fact is that most of the students in cse branch , have never touched the cse. They know nothing. And they are completely dependent upon the faculties and their knowledge so that they touch 100 from zero.

So, if you are getting cse branch in iit, then definitely you will go. Because after 4 years, you will all know about cse if you will study sincerely and honestly.
