Hello,
Yes you can definitely start your career in design by pursuing a certificate course from nift. There are several factors which can take you a notch higher than where you are. After successful completion of your course look out for some good internahips. Learn the very intricacies of deaign. You should be vigilent enough to grab all the opportunities which come your way.
Learn that fashion industry works on recommendations. Make as many contacts as possible. By doing so you would not only explore the design world but would also upgrade yourself to get hired. Its all about being different. Your career entirely depends on your skills and capabilities.
Good luck
