Yes, you can give the jee main exam after class 12th by taking a gap of one year. But, there is only three attempts available for a candidates for appearing in the jee main exam.
Here, is the eligibility criteria for jee main exam;
1. The candidates who born on or after 1st october, 1995 are eligible for the jee main 2020.
2. The five year of period is provided for the sc/st/pwd students as a relaxation.
3. Candidates must completed there 10+2 board exam with Physics, chemistry, mathematics as a mandatory subjects.
4. The candidates who completed there diploma courses of three years are also eligible for jee mains.
The question paper of jee main is based on objective and there will be negative marking for incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted from wrong answer.

yes, you can give JEE MAINS after your +2 board examination with one year gap.the candidate should have passed in the +2 board examination of 2017,2018 or the students who appearing for 2019 can also give jee mains.

It can be beneficial for you as you can concentrate completely on the exams without any disturbances but The pressure of preparing after taking a gap of one year is tremendous. Preparation phase can sometimes be very frustrating and you might not enjoy the fact that you are appearing for entrance exams while most of your batch mates have started their first year in college.
