NEET is the entrance examination for admission to MBBS,BDS, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. But NEET is not the sole entrance examination for admission to Veterinary courses. There are State Level Entrance examinations as well. For example, Rajasthan has RPVT, Karnataka has KCET, UP has UP Veterinary Entrance Examination, Andhra Pradesh has AP EAMCET, West Bengal has WBJEE. There are also MHT CET, JCECE, CSKHPKV, AAU VET, OUAT, etc. 15% of the seats are filled through All India Counseling on the basis of NEET score while the rest of the Seats are filled through Respective State Entrance Examinations. Veterinary Council of India conducts the Counselling for 15% All India Seats and the remaining seats are filled by the State Entrance examinations by the Controller of the Examinations of that particular State.

Yes NEET score is required to get Veterinary seat. Veterinary Council of India (VCI) used to conduct AIPVT exam for Veterinary course seat but the entrance examination of AIPVT 2020 was scrapped in the year 2017 following which counselling for veterinary colleges is done on the basis of merit position in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ( NEET ). So now you need to get a valid NEET score for Veterinary course seat.
