can you tell me what is csab counselling and how to apply

I hope you are doing great.

Let me explain this question properly as many students are not familiar with this term CSAB.

See, as you know after you clear JEE Main, to get seats in NITs, IITs or GFTIs , you will participate in JOSAA counseling and there if you get your desired seat, then you will take it or if you did not get a good seat according to you, and this kept happening till last round of JOSAA counseling, then in general you not accept that seat and it will remain vacant as you left it in last round of JOSAA counseling. And there may be many those students too who did not get any seats in JOSAA rounds incase cutoff is very high compared to the rank they have got.

Now as you left that seats and let us suppose that that seats remained vacant  throughout the JOSAA counseling, so now somehow that vacant seat has to be fulfilled. For this there is a different board known as Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) which helps these premium colleges to fulfil the vacant seats.

Now comes the most important point and it is, if you have not participated in JOSAA counseling and thinking t directly apply for CSAB counseling then you cannot do this. Only those candidates are allowed for CSAB counseling who have participated in JOSAA counseling but have not get any seats or desired seats in JOSAA round.

Let us see the procedure of CSAB counseling. Please have  a look below.

1. After the JOSAA counseling is over, you have to go to the official site of CSAB and you have to register for its counseling.

2. Pay the required amount of fees through online mediums.

3. Now similarly like JOSAA, you have to do choice filing but makes sure to check the list of vacant seats released by csab and do choice filling according to that.

4. Now on the basis of your JEE Main rank, seat will be allotted to you.

5. Now you have to pay for the seat to confirm your seat.

6. Now using the credentials of JOSAA, you have to do online reporting and further physical reporting in the institute where you have got the seat.
