For admissions in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs you have to score well in JEE Main. Score in JEE Main is the basic priority for one to get admission. You must have passed 12th from any recognised Board of Education with Maths, Physics and any of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject! You must have a 75% aggregate score in these Subjects for admission. You must have a Cut Off from 90 to 95 percentile in JEE Main to get admission in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs!

For admission in NIT and IIT you need to 75% marks in 12th class for general category student. Other category student have minimum 65% marks in 12th marks. You have to clear JEE mains examination and your rank must between 1500. Then go for JEE advanced examination. After all these you have to qualify for IIT or NIT.
