See, the eligibility criteria for applying for UPSC exam, your path to become an IAS, is that the candidate must have completed graduation with minimum 50% marks in any Subject stream from a recognised university. So, you can choose to go for any College of your choice and do any course of your choice. Upsc covers all the Subjects such as Gk, current affairs, geography, history, science, etc.,
So, the Subject choice for graduation is yours.
You can also take up coaching besides graduation for preparing for the exam.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Hi
You can choose any course of your choice based on your interest dear after your 10+2 for your graduation, this is because to be eligible for UPSC or the IAS examination there is no compulsion to be a graduate in a particular subject, all you need to be eligible is that you should be a graduate in any discipline
So you can choose any stream of your interest, but yes if you are interested in Arts then choosing BA or Arts can be really helpful for your UPSC or the IAS examination, this is because in Arts you will be learning subjects like history , polity etc which are a part of the UPSC syllabus so it will help you in your upsc examination.
Thankyou
