Currently I am studying 1st year mech engg,I want to know about Gate exam & how can i prepare for it? what are the books that i must refer ?

It's good to see a GATE aspirant in first year. Before that let me tell you these, you don't even get enough time to enjoy in 2/3/4th year holidays. And now it's like intermediate to you, they will Just tell about maths, physics, chemistry. So just try to focus on Maths. Then after 2nd year you can concentrate on GATE. It's my suggestion.
