Method of scoring can be found on the official website of the IIMs you are interested in. Those candidates who are eligible after these 2 roumds are called for Written Ability and Personal Interview Test. The final score is calculated based on this scale for IIM Lucknow:
Common Admission Test: 30
Academic Performance (12th + Graduation): 5+5
Diversity Factor (DF academics +DF gender): 5
Work Experience: 5
Writing Ability Test: 10
Personal Interview: 40
Final Score: 100
Because CAT exam will be held at different slots, CAT scores will be normalised to ensure equivalence in the difficulty levels of the exams for both slots. IIM Kozikhode will normalise the CAT scores using percentile equivalence. Adjustment of location and scale differences of score distributions across different norms and then scores will be normalised. These scores will be then converted into percentiles for shortlisting and selection purposes. So more or less to get a call from an IIM, your CAT percentile should be nothing less than 95%.
You can get into IIM if you score really good in your graduation and CAT exam. If you manage to get 90+ percentage in graduation and 96+ percentile in CAT, then you'll have a decent chance of getting into IIM. Also just getting marks isn't enough. You also need to perform well in WAT and interview rounds.
All the best.. Keep working hard..
Dear Rahul, just clearing CAT won't guarantee your admission in IIMs. Your 10th, 12th, graduation marks and CAT score all will be considered during admission process. Since your 12th grades are low so try to score high in CAT exam to make your overall score balanced.
All the best
Hope this helps
