differentiate between the surface and ground water describe the for 150 words
Hi!!!
Hope you are doing well.
Surface Water is the water that is found on the surface of the earth. On the other hand, Ground Water is located below the earth's surface.
Surface water has low mineral content and is more contaminated. On the other hand, Ground water is less contaminated as the rocks above the ground water level work as filters.
Surface water is easier to extract. On the other hand, Ground water is comparatively difficult to extract.
Surface water can be directly be used for different purposes like irrigation, cleaning, etc. On the other hand, Ground water need to be pumped out of the ground before using.
Hope you are clear now. Feel free to ask if you have any other queries. All The Best!!!
Hi aspirant,
Surface water are those sources of water which are present on our landforms and visible to our eyes. Generally these sources are found at plane surfaces the majority of which is produced by precipitation and runoff from nearby higher areas. The best examples of surface water includes river, ponds ,lakes and oceans. The surface water may be fresh or salty in taste.
Groundwater is found under the the surface of land and is collected due to seeking of water through soil after precipitation. A unit of rock or an unconsolidated deposit is called an aquifer when it can yield a usable quantity of water and also prevents water from going at more below level. This water is not directly accessible and can be obtained through hand pumps or motor pumps. Wells are also dug in order to obtain fresh groundwater.
Hope it helps!!
Hi reader ,
The water found on the surface of the earth is known as surface water. The water has low mineral content and is more contaminated.Due to less minerals it s also known as soft water. The sources for surface water are – streams, lakes, rivers etc.
The water that is located below the earth’s surface is referred to as ground water Is less contaminated as the rocks above the ground water level work as filters.Due to the minerals picked during the process of filtration via the rock it's considered as hard water. The source here is the water that is seeps through the soils and is filtered through tar different layers of earth and is stored in porous soil and rocks.
i hope this helps
thank you
