Correct Answer: Only conclusions I and II follow
Solution : The possible Venn diagram, according to the given statements is as follows –
Let's analyse the conclusions – Conclusion (I): Some bulbs being fans is a possibility – From the Venn diagram we can see that the circle representing bulbs and fans are not connected and there is no negative relation between them. Therefore, this conclusion follows. Conclusion (II): No fan is a vase – From the Venn diagram, we can see that the circle representing the vase has a negative relation with the circle representing the switches, and also the circle of fans is completely inside the circle of switches. So, this conclusion follows. Conclusion (III): All switches are fans – From the Venn diagram, we can see that the circle representing switches is not completely inside the circle representing fans. So, this conclusion does not follow. Conclusion (IV) : No bulb is a vase – From the Venn diagram we can see that there is no definite relation between bulb and vase. So, this conclusion does not follow.
Therefore, the only conclusions I and II follow. Hence, the second option is correct.
