HELLO DEAR,
YES, Exit Exam is mandatory for BDS.
Why NEXT(National Exit Test) mandatory for BDS?
=> As per the proposed National dental commision Bill 2020 , all BDS studen required Exit exam to qualified as a prectice in dentistry. this rule for mandatory given exam is same for MBBS students . Without giving this exam you can not Prectice medical or dentistry.

According to National Dental Commission bill 2020, bds student have to appear for exit exam to get practicing license and to apply for MDS.
