There is NO NEED to give your board exams if you take a drop for MHTCET. However, if you fail in your boards, then you need to give the improvement re exam in the following 6 months.

No, If you drop for MHTCET exam there is no need to give boards exam again.The eligibility to give MHTCET exam in PCM or PCB or Both group is candidate should be studying 12th or completed 12th with Science stream.Through MHTCET student give admissions into Bsc Agriculture, Bpharm,BE/Btech ug course. So if you cleard board exam this year and you not satisfied with MHTCET score you should give this exam next year.

If you have scored well below 85 marks in MHTCET and well below 60% amd you also havent appeared for JEE Main, only then you can opt for drop. ... Sijce a year gap can be detrimental to your career.
You can only attempt MHT-CET 3 times . You must have a domicile certificate of Maharashtra.
