Hello,

First of all DDCE, Utkal University doesn't offer LLB in distance mode, moreover if you're interested in pursuing law please do so through regular mode because law program in distance mode isn't recognized by Bar Council of India, also law as a subject isn't just about theoretical knowledge but their is practical applications too.

Just to provide you detailed information regarding this, the eligibility criteria for three year LLB program is candidate needs to passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a reognized university with 45% marks and in case reserved category it's 40%. Universities like DU and BHU require minimum 50% marks while universities like Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Meerut require only 45% marks in graduation.

Entrance test conducted by some of the top universities are follows-

DU LLB conducted by Delhi University

BHU-UET(Law) by BHU

LSAT, its entrance scores are accepted by many universities

TS- LAWCET- Law Common Entrance Test is conducted by colleges and universities in Telangana

Hello Aspirant!

if you want to be a lawyer in future, LLB through distance or correspondence mode is not the genuine option. Because Bar Council of India (Which regulates lawyers profession)does not recognize any distance education degree for LLB.

Therefore, even if you managed to obtain one, you will not be able to practice in court with that degree.in simple word you can’t become lawyer doing LLB through distance or correspondence mode.

Anyway here's a list of the universities which provide correspondence and distance LLB :

  • National Law School of India University , Bangalore.
  • Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu
  • Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam
  • Kakatiya University, Warangal, Andhra Pradesh
  • Bangalore Law University, Bangalore
  • Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai
  • Directorate of Distance Education at Annamalai Nagar, Tamil Nadu
  • Alagappa University, Directorate of Distance Education, Coimbatore
  • Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi
  • Faculty of Law, Delhi University, Delhi
  • Kurukshetra University, Department of Distance Education, Kurukshetra
  • University of Kashmir
  • Kalinga University, Bhubaneswar
  • The Government Law College,Mumbai
  • ILS Law College,Pune
  • Pune University
  • ICFAI University, Gurgaon, New Delhi
  • Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi
  • Jamia Millia Islamia, Centre for Distance and Open Learning, New Delhi
  • Motilal Nehru Institute, Allahabad University

All the above-listed university are offering LLB through distance mode so, when taking admission you must be clear that you are taking admission for not getting practice with bar council of India and getting admitted for only LLB degree.go ahead do LLB with sitting at home.

Hope this was helpful!

Best Wishes.

Hello, Bappaditya Roy

It's a big no. Bar Council of India has already made it clear that the licence will not be issued for those persons who have done LL-B through distance education system and as such you cant become a lawyer so the degree is useless. But, Yes you can do various diploma and few degree courses through the distance mode offered in various specializations like MBL, Human Rights, IPR etc by many colleges.
