hello anitalosang ,
The scope for a liberal arts education in India is very high. I can say this from personal experience, since I graduated from School of Liberal Studies (SLS), Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. I graduated from the 4 year course with a major in Business Administration and opted for a Economics minor. I earned the title “Bachelor of Business Administration Honours in Marketing” alongwith a Diploma in Liberal Studies in 2013. The first ever batch of liberal arts graduates in India are from FLAME, Pune and they graduated in 2012.
The 4 year bachelor’s program at SLS, PDPU is divided into 8 semesters. In the first 4 semesters, the students are exposed to subjects in all the liberal arts areas:
- Public Administration
- Economics
- Psychology
- International relations
- Business Administration
- Mass Communication
- English Literature
