Hii No the gap between 10th and 12th will not matter untill you fulfill the other eligibility criteria i.e You can appear in JEE Advance only in the same year as of qualifying class 12th and the next consecutive year. And without JEE Advance, you can not get into IITs. As of now, the age criteria has been scrapped off by the supreme court so the candidates of minimum 17 is the lower limit but there is no upper age limit for 2019. So the most important things you need to make sure include - You must have qualified JEE Mains and secure position in top 224000 candidates. You must not have appeared in JEE Advance in 2017 or earlier. (if you appeared in 2018 then you are eligible) You must have completed your class 12th in 2018 or appearing in 2019. You must have scored a minimum 75% in class 12th with PCM or must be in top 20 percentile scorers in your respective board. If you fulfill all te above mentioned criteria, then you can apply for IIT and gap will not matter. Hope this helps Thanks!!
