Dear Satish, MIT offers fully funded Scholarships to its International students. It offers many need based Scholarships which means Scholarships at MIT depend completely upon their Individual family circumstances. MIT doesn't offer any merit scholarships to students because given its reputation every student who applies has a great Academic record. If you look at the list of documents needed for International Students to apply for Scholarships, none of them ask for SAT score. It asks for your CSS profile, Parent's income Statement. SAT score is only considered as a required document for admission but not scholarship.

Hello Satish,

I am assuming this query is regarding the SAT scores and Massachusetts Institute of Technology admissions.

The SAT qualifying score and a good score are quite different.

SAT General is out of 1600, the closer your score to the mark the better.

But apart from the SAT score a variety of other aspects of your application determine admission in MIT.

Your extra-curriculars, social work, projects taken up in your field of interest as well as your essays and interviews play an important role when it comes to admission in deemed institutions like MIT.

Here let me give you a few examples of what may count as outstanding achievement in your field of interest

Representing your country in Google Science Fair, giving a TedX Talk in your field of work/achievement, doing an observership or internship with a scientist or an academic.

These are only a few examples, of course you can be as creative and innovative with your ideas. That spark and that will is what the institute is searching for.

If you do get admission in MIT, you can apply for scholarship based on financial need or if a relative is an MIT alumnus.

The getting-in is the tricky part, once that is achieved financial aid is not an issue.

The financial aid may not be 100% but usually do cover 80-90% of the course fee.

You would find a lot of groups of Indian students/alumni from MIT as well as Ivy League institutes on social media platforms.

They can further guide you and give you useful tips.

The crux here being

1. SAT is not the only factor affecting your admission

2. Admission and not scholarship is what needs to be the focus

I hope this helps you, good luck! :)
