As per the official FAQ section of SRM :
Yes, students who have NOT studied biology in 10+2 or its equivalent are eligible for admission to B.Tech Genetic Engineering. They should have passed in 10+2 or its equivalent and secured minimum 60% aggregate in physics, chemistry and mathematics. Needless to say that the students who have secured minimum 60% aggregate in physics, chemistry and biology are eligible for admission to B.Tech Genetic Engineering. These are qualifying marks only. Admission will be based on the performance in All India Engineering Entrance Examination of SRM University (SRMEEE) only.
So if you have 60% marks then you are also eligible for the course.
