Definitely you can get Government job - be looking for the advertisement. The Government may not afford to treat CSE people with higher respect they may have for other Engineers and hence a similar process will be applied. It may or may not be consistent with your expectation based on what you know about your friends in IT companies like Infosys, TCS etc.
