According to the Madras High Court, foreign medical aspirants  scoring more than 80 % marks in class 12th or qualifying examination should only be issued the eligibility certificate. The Court disallowed the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Central Government from issuing eligibility certificates to foreign medical aspirants scoring less than 80 per cent.
