The Common Admission Test (CAT) is one of the most important components to get admission in IIM Bangalore or any other IIMs. In order to get admission in IIMs, you must obtain a good percentile in the CAT. There is no specific percentile stated by the IIMs which will give you a 100% WATPI shortlist. Even scoring a high percentile in the CAT will not give you a guarantee to get an interview call as it depends upon various factors.
IIM Bangalore or any other IIM give consideration to a number of factors while giving a WATPI call. These factors include CAT score, Class 10, Class 12, and Bachelor's degree marks, work experience, academic, and gender diversity, etc. Your first priority should be to clear both the overall percentile of 75 and sectional percentile of 70 in all three sections in case of IIM Bangalore and the overall and sectional percentile as stated by the different IIMs for EWS category candidates. If you have no work experience, it will not be a disadvantage as a number of candidates who get admission in the IIMs are freshers with no work experience. You will not get the marks allotted for work experience.
However, even if you score 95 percentile in the CAT , this will not mean that you will get a confirm WATPI call. Therefore, the CAT score is not the only criteria but is one of the major criteria for admission.
The marks obtained by you in Class 10, Class 12, Graduation, academic, and gender diversity will play a major role to get a shortlist for the WATPI process along with the CAT score and your performance in the WATPI round will play a major role during your final selection.
