If you qualified NEET (qualifying cutoff varies according to candidate's category), you are eligible for counseling from both ALL INDIA QUOTA (AIQ) & your respective State quota (SQ).
You have to register and then fill counseling form for both AIQ & state quota, on respective dates of their release.
MCC COUNSELING:
MCC conducts the counseling for 15% AIQ, CU, AFMS, ESI. (AIPMEEE)
Firstly register yourself, then when choice filling will start you have to fill your preference list for colleges and lock it (you can select as many colleges you want to select, there is no boundations for that) , and then do payment.
So, now you will be thinking, how much you will have to pay?
For (AIQ)/Central Universities (DU,AMU,BHU & jamia millia Islamia, delhi)/ AFMS & ESI
Registration fees (non-refundable) : 1000 Rs (UR), 500 Rs (OBC,SC,ST,PH)
Security Amount (refundable) : 10000 Rs(UR), 5000 Rs (OBC,SC,ST,PH)
For Deemed Universities
Registration fees (non-refundable) : 5000 Rs (for all)
Security Amount (refundable) : 2,00,000 Rs
It depends on you, in which type of colleges you want to apply for counseling. (If you want, then You can select all of them)
The security Amount will be refunded, after counseling. (So, remember do your payment from your bank account only, not from emitra/cybercafe person's account)
[Wait for allotment result announcement]
When results of Round 1 will be declared, if you are alloted a seat, download your allotment letter(which will be available on MCC website after few days of allotment results), and report to your respective college and complete your admission formalities.
You can report to your college and upgrade your College in Round 2 (if you want to upgrade to another College or course)
If you dont want to report due to any reason, like if you didn't get the college of your choice, in that case you don't have to report to college, as there is free exit option available to you in ROUND 1 only.
If you are not alloted a seat in ROUND 1, choice filling option will reopen (for round 2) and you can fill your choices keeping in mind your rank and round 1 cutoff.
After results of ROUND 2, if you are alloted a seat, download your allotment letter(which will be available on MCC website after few days of allotment results), and report to your respective college and complete your admission formalities.
If your college/course is upgraded in round 2, then don't forget to collect relieving letter from round 1 college, before reporting to round 2 alloted college.
If you report to respective College in ROUND 2, you can't leave that seat . If you are allotted a seat and if you don’t report to college then you can exit with forfeiture of security money.
If you are not alloted any seat, then you are eligible for mopup round.(No AIQ seats are alloted in mopup)
STATE QUOTA (85%)
- The counseling of state quota varies from state to state, starts on different dates, results get declared on different dates , but process is same as AIQ.
- For registration you have to apply on respective states counseling website.
- This also has ROUND 1, ROUND 2, MOPUP. The only fact here is that vacant seats in AIQ(after round 2) are reverted to respective state quota seats.(In round 2 seats)
- In some of the states, you can upgrade your college from Round 2 to MOPUP .
NOTE: Most probable sequence of counseling rounds-
Round 1(AIQ)
Round 1 (SQ)
Round 2 (AIQ)
Round 2 (SQ)
MOPUP (SQ)
What you should take care of :
- Read everything very very carefully while applying for counseling,
- Keep soft and hard copy of all your documents handy
- Fill college priorities carefully , keeping everything in mind - your rank, year of establishment of college (older one is better), total intake, fees, local language, bond , infrastructure of college, hostel facilities etc
Hope you find this useful and all your doubts are now clear
So, i wish you all the best for your future, do well!
