Hello Anju
Of course, you need to have a normal color vision. Also, the requirements are stricter for Deck hands/ dual career, while for Engineering / Radio the norms are more relaxed. ... (Marine Engineering) degree course, distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in other eye.

For deck cadet
6/6 for good eye
6/9 for bad eye
For engine cadet
6/9 in one eye and 6/18 in the other
6/12 in both the eyes
Apart from the eyesight requirement the profession also demands a sound health of the worker . Other defects are like colour blindness also make the candidate unfit fot the the job
All the best .
