Hello Ankit Anand, if some one scores around 98 percentile in JEE Main paper 1 that is for B.Tech and B.E courses, his rank will be around 20 thousand, his marks will differ from paper to paper, depending upon the level of paper.
But by seeing previous years papers and results, for getting around 98 percentile marks should be around 200 to 250 depending upon the level of paper, if the paper is quite tough it will be close to 200 and if easy it can be around 250 also,or it might be below 200 also sometimes when the paper is very tough. so No one can exactly tell you the marks without seeing the paper but for average paper we can say that it will be around 200 to 250.
