BTech Food Technology is a 4-year undergraduate course divided in 8 semesters that deals with the study of Food processing, preservation techniques, and applications of food engineering used in the food industry to increase the shelf life of the product.
The basic eligibility to apply for this BTech Course is the completion of 10+2 with at least 60% aggregate with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one optional from Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology from a recognized university.
Food Technology industry is growing rapidly and it shares around 14% of manufacturing GDP and 13% of India’s total food exports. Admissions into the BTech Food Technology course is usually based on entrance examinations such as JEE-Mains, DUET, WBJEE, Amity JEE, and many more.
The average course fee of BTech Food Technology colleges ranges between INR 40,000 to INR 1.5 Lakhs. The Average salary is expected to be around INR 2 lakh to 3.5 lakh per annum. The graduates can also pursue MTech Food technology, MTech Dairy Technology, MBA, etc. for higher education.
