Hi Anku, yes many people take 2nd drop for jee mains. Mainly because they don't have better options and believe they can do far better in another attempt.
It's normal. But I would personally say that if you are absolutely sure that another year would improve your performance then take drop.
If you are absolutely confident, then i would say think about it , discuss with your family and friends and then decide.
Hope this helps. Regards
Yes many take drop.
But a sincere advice is you should work really hard to get into nits or top IIITs.
Sometimes luck doesn't favour but hard work never fails so practice is the key to achieve success
So don't even waste time and start clearing your concepts and do as many mocks as possible
You have time to study every concept
Solve HC Verma again and do cengage books
If you are willing to get in to a good NIT but somehow you cant score well in JEE-MAINS then not to worry, you can take a year drop to practice for next year but you have to make sure that you will be more focused and more determined towards your studies ,you will rectify all the mistakes that you have made this time and will not repeat them , you will do regular study and smart work along with hard work ,solve as many questions as you can ,try variety of questions ,solve previous years papers and most importantly always keep you goal in your mind and believe in yourself that you will definitely achieve your goal !!
you should try eSaral learning app for preparing for IIT they have video lectures on all topics and you will understand the topics very well and you can check your progress through test modules,
I hope it will help you
Good luck.....
Dear candidate,
Typically, students think that by dropping a year they will be able to study harder for the next one year, get a better branch or a better ranking IIT. To be able to take an informed decision, you should be aware of the consequences of your decision.
Risks you take by opting for a Second Attempt
- You may get bored, depressed or frustrated over the next year.
- There is a chance that it may turn out to be just a bad day for you – sickness, accident or just plain bad luck can ruin your day and your chance to get even your present rank.
- You will be under a lot of stress next year as it will be your last chance to crack the IIT JEE (Advanced) exam.
Well to be Frank even for Jee advanced level, dropping ONE year is more than sufficient. Dropping 1 year or even 2 years is not sujastable because IIT is NOT Everything. But if you really want to get into an IIT then you definitely can.
Hope I answer your question and it's helpful.
All the best!
