Hello sir/madam, can one be a lecturer in a college after distance learning under any recognised university?
In order to become assistant professor/lecturer candidates need to appear for NET or state levels SET, for which eligibility criteria is
passed master's degree in relevant discipline with 55% aggregate from a recognized university, in case of reserved category there is relaxation of 5%.
Now, if the University from where you're pursuing your post graduation is recognized by UGC and the degree is valid such as IGNOU then you are eligible to appear for NET or state level SET as per the criteria aforementioned, and after qualifying any of these exams, you'll become eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor.
To provide you an example if you're pursuing any pg degree from IGNOU which is a valid and recognized university hence you are eligible to appear for NET/SET if you fulfill the eligibility criteria as mentioned above, and there on you can assistant professor in college
Greetings,
The UGC has a policy that the candidates only who obtained degree through the regular colleges can only be appointed as a teaching faculty.
and the Teacher's recruitment board has also announced that candidates who obtained the degree in recognised university in 10+2+3 pattern only will be eligible and the candidates through correspondence or distance education or open university will not be eligible to become lecturer or assistant professor in colleges and universities.
hope this is helpful thank you.
