Hey! This is Monika, at present I'm in class 10. My Long-term goal is to become a scientist. I'm interested in the the study of cosmos. But i don't want to take standard maths. I want to take basic maths. Does it will affect my carrier?

If u see the difference in basic maths and standard maths, it's the matter of conceptual difficulty. If you want to become a scientist in future then having your base strong in advanced maths is very important and being clear about scientific concepts and logical reasoning and thinking. I recommend you to take standard maths if you really want to make your career in research field.
Choosing basic maths would make you familiar with concepts but it won't go into depth, the base required for keeping you ready for further challenges you will be facing in this field.
