from 2019 , NTA -the exam conducting agency has started conducting the exam twice a year in th =e months of january and april, registrations starting 1 month prior to exam. and advance taking place only once in may after mains.

Age Criteria: NTA has removed the age limit. However, candidates need to pass 10+2 or equivalent examination in 2017, 2018 or should be appearing for the same in 2019 in irrespective of their birth date.
Qualifying Examinations: Must have passed class 12 or equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018. Also, candidates appearing for class 12 board examination in 2019 will be also eligible for JEE Main 2019.
Subjects to be Qualified in Qualifying Examination: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject, Language and any other subject
Qualifying Marks for Admission into IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs: Must score the minimum of 75% marks or should be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards. For candidates belonging to SC/ST category minimum scores required is 65%.
For JEE Main Paper-II- Candidates seeking admission to the architecture course must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination. No Diploma holder is eligible for the entrance exam
