For you good branch means which branch? For CSE in good iits you have to score more than 250 marks . For core branches it would be less than that of CSE bt it is also above 160 marks may vary on the basis of cutoff of that year

as a general category student you need 130+ to clear cut-off's of iit's.but you need to score high to get a good branch( like  for CSE will need 250+).to know the previous year cut-off's,please refer below link
