see I would suggest you to first complete your 10+2 course , then do bachelor of technology in electronics and communication engineering, since diploma is 3 years and after diploma there is lateral entry exam to give to join btech course from second year, so it takes total of six years, however if he complete 12th then he can join btech course of 4 years, right now in bangalore and hyderabad there is many startup companies which manufactures electronics products and has wide application of robotics, after btech he may join m.tech course in iits on robotics which has wide research scope  and high paying job after completing m.tech course.
