Hi, I want to pursue a phd in biotechnology, I have a MBA in IB and Undergraduate with BSc (hons) Biotechnology. kindly guide me on how to move ahead. Regards,

You are eligible for pursuing PhD in Biotechnology after your MBA.  PhD Biotechnology is a 3yr post graduate degree. The criteria for pursuing PhD is you should have Master's degree with 55% marks in engineering including Biotech/ or in any core science/ Phychology/ Economics/ Media/ English/ Physiotherapy/ Commerce/ Management from any recognised University.

The eligibility criteria of Ph.D in Biotechnology

You must have a master degree with 55% marks in aggregate in a relevant discipline. Then you have to qualify LPUNEST and after that you have to pass the interview. For further details you have to check the guidelines of Ph.D programs.


Yes, you can apply for Ph.D in Biotechnology after completing MBA from any other field. Such as, IB. But it is difficult to pursue Ph.D if you are not having a post graduation degree in your name. You have to walk on a different road for this. You have to apply for a dual degree programme in a college or university. In this way you need not to complete your post graduation separately. You have completed your graduation with Biotechnology honours. So, it will help you in your Ph.D. You no need to worry. If you go with Ph.D in Biotechnology after completing MBA, it is really very worthy degree. Your job opportunity will be increased.

Ph D biotechnology is  a Doctorate course in Biotechnology which generally take 3-5 years to complete

For pursuing pH D in Biotechnology candidate has to do master's in biotechnology or other relevant field with minimum 50-55% or 6.75 CGPA on a 10 point scale marks , from any recognized University.

As you have master's degree so you can proceed for pH D .
