Hello Aspirant,

Go through the syllabus thoroughly and check which topics you have studied in college and which you have not. This will give you an idea of how much time and energy you need to give to a particular topic.

Next I would suggest you to study from the basic books that are referred in your college syllabus. The book suggestions are:

  • Group Theory: Gallian
  • Real Analysis: Bartle and Sherbert
  • Differential Equations: S.L. Ross or Edward- Penny
  • Linear Algebra: David C Lay and Friedberg
  • Integral and Vector Calculus: M.J. Strauss
  • Differential Calculus: M.J. Strauss
Once you complete all the topics from these books, I would suggest you to go through the books by Samvedna Publication. These books are helpful as they mainly aim for IIT JAM and provide you with topic wise questions that were asked in the previous years. There are a lot of errors in this book but once you have completed the syllabus from the above mentioned books, you would be able to spot the errors. I am suggesting these books as they were helpful to me but it depends on you whether you are comfortable with these books or not.

One important thing is that you should solve all the questions from the previous year papers. This will help you to understand the pattern of the paper.

Join any online test series and keep practicing. This will help you to manage your time for the exam.

All the best!
