To IDENTIFY where you stand is the basic step to start your preparation for CAT entrance exam. You need to identify your strengths and weaknesses in the beginning so that throughout your preparation you put maximum effort on your weaker sections and improvise on those areas.

CAT aspirants should have a specific study schedule apart from their daily work. However, in case of working professionals DISCIPLINE plays a vital role. Since they have office commitments, which are equally important and cannot be ignored, working professionals have to make a study plan according to this. During weekdays 8-10 days in total is sufficient to get a 98+ percentile.

Get your FUNDAMENTALS right! Yes, CAT is known for its unexpected surprises. Pattern change and variation in the level of difficulty is not a new thing. Therefore, to be adapted to these kinds of changes one has to have solid fundamentals.

Importance of sectional tests and ANALYSIS: Without appearing for mock and sectional tests, one can never be ready for the D-day. Sectional tests should ideally form the most important part of a working professional’s preparation.

All the best!

First of all don't aim for any specific college. Keep an aim to get into top most college. The college you are aiming is slightly different from other IIMs as it gives much more weightage to work experience and excellent academic records.

For your CAT 2018 preparations if you are not joining any coachings like T.I.M.E. or Career Launcher then you would need to start working on your basics for all the 3 sections first.

Start quant section with preparations from books like Arun Sharma which is pretty good for quantitative ability. Start reading lots of novels by famous writers like Charles Dickens and various good newspapers like Hindu which will help you in improving your performance in verbal ability section. For improving your vocabulary you should start memorizing 5 new words daily with their meaning and correct pronounciation and use them in your daily conversations so that you can memorize them properly. For RC section start reading passages and understand the thought process of author and tone in which he/she is communicating with you. Also try to figure out message it wants to deliver. This will help you in answering most of the questions asked below the passage.

Along with this all through the year keeps on attempting lots of online mock test and analyse solutions of each mock test which will help you in overcoming your mistakes and come up with a strategy to attempt your paper which will definitely help you in improving your marks and percentile.

In short work very hard on your basics first so that it helps you in solving paper with speed and accuracy and give lots of mock test with analysing their solutions to improve your score.

All the best!!

llo,CAT is one of the toughest exam for MBA. But as they say, we can climb Everest with planning, strategy, dedicqtion and aiming. A little planning and plotting can help you crack exam.First of all try joining some coaching class for it. This is because, cat is all about speed, shortcuts and coaching class help us providing with that. Also daily practice of those shortcuts, tips and tricks is required. Now while studying you tend to develop your own tricks, and these tricks help alot.Solving mock question papers, reading journals, newspapers, watching news channels and english english movies can help you with english part of CAT examination.Dedicating a good 8 to 10 hrs daily to cat preparation is recommended. And solving mock papers every 3 days. All the best, try doing all the things and you are good to go.
