Number of subjects in each semester differs from stream to stream. So as you haven't mentioned the stream for which you are asking the question, I am answering on the basis of JNTU KAKINADA Civil Engineering course structure.
We all know in most of the institutions you have the same course structure for all stre 2nd
ams for the 1st year and then it becomes subject specific from the second year.
Now I am giving you Number of subjects and the credits distributions.
1st Year: SEM-I=> No. of subjects : 9 & Total Credits: 24
SEM-II => No. of subjects : 10 & Total Credits: 24
2nd year: SEM-I=> No. of subjects : 8(+1 non credit course) & Total Credits: 24
SEM-II => No. of subjects : 8(+1 non credit course) & Total Credits: 22
3rd Year: SEM-I=> No. of subjects : 8 & Total Credits: 22
SEM-II => No. of subjects : 8(you have to choose 1 open elective) & Total Credits: 22
