Dear Randheer, there are certain types of scholarship. Like Merit based scholarship, Need based scholarship and merit cum neet based scholarship. Merit based scholarship is for those candidates who have meritorious academic record. Need based scholarship is for those candidates who have financial need to study. Merit cum need based scholarship is for those candidates who are meritorious and need financial assistance to pursue studies.
