How can I contribute to my GATE preparation in 1 year of BTech ?
GATE 2025: Syllabus | Sample Papers
Hello Piyush Joshi
For GATE Preparations follow the following
- You must be aware about the GATE syllabus, released by the organizing IIT.
- You must go through the section-wise and topic-wise syllabus of your chosen branch in order to know what all you have to study
- Solving previous years papers is of utmost importance if you want to excel in the exam.
- Know the weightage of Topics. it is advisable and important to study the complete GATE Syllabus but do the topics that are much more important in terms of weightage given in GATE.
- Look up topper and expert tips in this regard as they do mention the books or material they have referred to.
- Make Short Notes while you study as this is will be helpful during revision. Write down Formulae that you find difficult to remember so that they are handy for revision.
Hope it helps you.
Hello aspirant,
First things first…its generally the second year when you start learning the core subjects from which the GATE questions are asked(You can check the syllabus on the internet)so make sure that you concentrate hard on those subjects along with your college coursework from then on.
Since you are in the first year,Please start to work on your Maths and Aptitude now itself as most people hold it back thinking it can be done later on(as what i did too) and struggle during the time just before GATE.
Now If your college is a good enough institution which teaches students very well, then there is no problem…But if you feel like you are not learning much in the first month of your second year, You can try doing the same coursework on NTPEL which is good and free education(Thanks to the IIT’s).
If you also want,You can join any coaching centers for GATE which may have really good teachers and thus you can clear your remaining doubts and do your mock tests too….
If you follow even half of what I have typed above, Clearing GATE would be a piece of cake to you, but who knows the Slot for the AIR 1 is still open, so All the BEST.
