  • Solve all last year question papers
  • Know your syllabus properly
  • Have your own notes written which contains key points and formulas
  • Revise them daily.

Hii..
Firstly you should go through the basics of class 11th & 12th and try to solve the previous year question papers and mock test series.
You may prefer OP Tandon for general and inorganic chemistry, Arihant publications for Organic chemistry,RD Sharma for maths & HC Verma for physics.

Hello Rahul Sharma. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.

First up, I have to say that even 6000 characters arent enough to discuss in length the vastness of JEE Advanced. Anyways, I will try my best.

Note that JEE Advanced is totally different from that of Mains. This is because whilst the latter focuses more on just basic knowledge by studying NCERT / CBSE syllabus of Class 11 and 12, the former requires more knowledge and a thorough, in depth understanding of the concepts.

From my experience (I just missed entering IIT, presently studying in DTU), I would say that as a starting step, I used my coaching study material & stuck to basics. You can also take DLP course of some institutes like FIITJEE, ALLEN, Vidyamandir, etc.

And then the books. Note that a proper choice of books is very necessary in order to get a good rank in the Advanced paper. First of all, buy Arihant's past year JEE question papers to get an idea of the level of questions. I would like to direct your attention to this link for more information:

I would please advice you to study the books, not read them!

After this, it's just practice and revision. I would say that this is the hardest part of JEE preparation. Here are some tips from my side:

  • Make proper notes while studying these books as it will prevent you from again reading the topics which are not that important.
  • After finishing every topic make it a point to solve MCQ’s on it as it will give you an idea of your understanding of the topic.
  • Take a lot of mock tests and solve a lot of sample papers and previous year’s papers. This will help you boost your self-confidence and prepare yourself for the upcoming examination.

Hope you will listen to these tips from your senior. I wish you all the best!
